Beyond his work at ABC, Amit is a director of Spice FM, Tyneside’s only inclusive community radio station. Established in 2008, Spice FM is dedicated to educating, entertaining, and empowering minority communities across the North East.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, Amit stepped up as a Newcastle City Council Community Champion, supporting vital initiatives across the region. His commitment to giving back extends even further—he founded and has chaired a Christmas charity for over a decade, bringing the joy of the festive season to thousands of children in need.

In addition to his community and philanthropic work, Amit serves as a Family Court Magistrate, ensuring fairness and justice within the legal system.
